If you haven't played Mystic Messenger completely, you might read something that will reveal to you the complete story of the game. So please pay attention!

Trivia

• Ray won Cheritz's 2018 popularity poll as the 2nd most popular character in the game.

• Albeit Saeran is slightly smaller and slender, he's the genetically identical twin brother of Seven. Saeran's hair and eye color used to be the same as his brother until he was inducted to Mint Eye.
  • Zen and Jaehee claim his hair is bleached after first meeting him. However, it's uncertain if he bleached it himself as he never mentions doing so in the game or in his diary. Since his hair turns white right after his cleansing in Mint Eye is complete, it's possible it lost its color due to the trauma of the torture he went through.
  • In one of Jaehee’s voicemails in Ray’s After Ending, she states that it is indeed dyed.
    • At the end of the second secret ending, it's back to its original color. In a promotional postcard of the Special Believer's package where Seven is side-hugging him, his hair is also back to the red color.
  • It's unclear if the mint color of his eyes was a side-effect of the drugs (or elixir) used by Mint Eye or if he's wearing colored contacts.
• According to Saeran's diary, Rika picked Ray's clothes.
• Despite not being directly stated, much like his twin brother, Saeran doesn't drink alcoholic beverages or smoke, since there are no mentions of him ever doing so. The cigarette he asks for in the first secret ending is actually a trick to steal Vanderwood's phone to contact Mint Eye's headquarters. No indications of him smoking exist throughout the game or the special packages.
  • It's heavily implied both twins don't drink or smoke because it reminds them of their abusive mother.
• In one of his 2019 Birthday intro chats, Saeran says his favorite ice cream is My Brother is An Alien (형아는 외계인).
  • This is a pun of the "My Mother is an Alien" ice cream flavor from Korean Baskin Robbins, called Puss n' boots in America. In the English version, it was changed to Mint Chocolate Chip.
• Despite Saeran having a sweet tooth, Ray confesses he doesn't like Dr. Pepper, partially because it reminds him of Seven but also because soft drinks give him headaches.
• During the prologue, when he asks the player if they would help him return the phone and the player replies with, "No. You're creepy.", no matter what the player chooses to reply with to his next message, he will proceed to send you an image of a complete stranger, which is intended to mislead the player into believing his words. (Though it's possible that the person is himself because it has been hinted that he wears contacts, or the image is found from the internet.)
• It is implied in a story mode on day 10 Yoosung's route, that Saeran killed his mother.
  • However in Ray's Route Good End, it was Rika who killed the mother.
• In 707's After Ending, Unknown - under his real name, Saeran - stated that he has no interest in women; however, this is only stated in Seven's dream. This is later proved false in Ray's Route as he falls in love with the player.
• In the second Secret Ending, it's told that Saeran has stress-related gastritis and a mild mental disorder, although it's not specified what kind. His immunity system is also low.
  • It's also heavily implied that he suffers from depression, clearly stating that he wants to die and even tries to kill himself before being stopped by Saeyoung.
  • It is also stated that he was sickly as a child, which may relate to the low immunity he is noted to have when he's hospitalized in Secret 02.
  • While not official, Saeran's voice actor interprets Saeran as having Borderline Personality Disorder (which he himself has), and mentions it in his Free Talk for Secret 02.
• According to the RFA Top Secret Book:
  • His email is unknown@cheritz.com
  • He holds a special talent for hacking.
  • He likes ice cream and candy, and dislikes bread.
  • His most used app is the GPS.
  • His favorite quote is, "Perseverance is key."
• He has broken the fourth wall:
  • In Jaehee's route Bad Relationship Ending 1, he says "Don't be surprised. I only came here because you didn't seem to want to play this game any further."
    • However, it is also possible that he was referring to "talking to the RFA" as a game, since he is revealed to have a tendency to speak in gaming analogies.
  • In April fools DLC 19:47 "Banned plaster bust", he says "This app is called Mystic Messenger."

• In the games, Saeran has been stated to be good with wires, which is how he was able to access the window of Rika's 14th floor apartment.
• Ray is currently studying the language of flowers.
• Ray considers flowers to be his only friends.
• Of all the main characters, Saeran is the only one with two different greeting icons on the game's homepage. One for Ray, and a masked one for Unknown.
  • V also has two different greeting icons, albeit less obvious. One without sunglasses, and one with sunglasses.

• Saeran learned coding from a book Rika gave him, but he used Seven's old coding notebooks to help him understand it better.
  • Seven originally thought Saeran was his copycat due to how similar their hacking/coding was.

• "Ray" is a name given to Saeran by Rika, and the name seemingly predates the first cleansing ceremony.
• According to Rika's Scrapbook:
  • Ray's belongings: cell phone with a long password, caffeine pills, brush, laptop, notebook & pen, and a spare pair of leather gloves.
